North Coast Chapter Information
Profile: A group of landscape contractors and Associate members from the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter decided in 1972 to form a CLCA chapter from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Oregon border. Dave Dorward, Phil Wyatt, Francisco Peccorini, Bud Fellenberg, and Bill Davidson were instrumental in the creation of North Coast Chapter. Of the many Associate members involved, Phil Wyatt and his company still actively support the chapter.
The chapter has the distinction of hosting the first Certified Landscape Technician test. On October 15, 1983, a "dry run" involving six landscape contractors and employees was conducted on a Santa Rosa farm. Today certification in construction, maintenance, and irrigation means as much as it did then -- an increase in professionalism and the assurance of trained, qualified personnel.
