CAREER PATH
The Education Committee of the California Landscape Contractors Association has prepared the "Career Path" as one of its business management benefits for our members and others in the landscape industry. CLCA's goal to promote professionalism and to be recognized, by the public, as the best qualified professionals means that we start by operating our businesses at the highest levels. To assist in achieving these management skills, the Education Committee has been developing several programs; "How To Make Money In A Landscape Business," "Profit Through Learning, your educational toolbox," and now "Career Path." By putting all these tools together, we know that each company will gain a lot of valuable information, thus improving their own ability, but also improving the landscape industry in general.
"Career Path" will give companies a solid foundation for various job descriptions; requirements, job skills, evaluations, reporting, and wage base. We recognize that each company is different, as is the requirements in different regions of California, however, this document is designed to be a business starting point. Each company can modify the career path to meet their individuals needs. Finding and retaining valuable employees also means a good training background, a path for advancement, and a base of understanding for students and others entering the industry.
Please keep us posted on how this and other educational material has benefited your company.
