Career Path : LANDSCAPE PRODUCTION MANAGER
The "Landscape Production Manager" must be proficient in performing all tasks of landscape installation/construction. This position should manage landscape construction projects, and act as an intermediary between landscape field operations and company management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Meet all requirements of "Landscape Supervisor" job description.
- Minimum 2-year degree in horticulture or equivalent topic or 4 years of "in field" experience.
- Maintain physical fitness level necessary to complete assigned job tasks.
- Comply with all company policies/procedures and safety requirements including supervisor discipline and documentation.
- Responsible for enforcing safety of the customer, job site, and company employees on site.
- Act as intermediary between company management and field operations as needed.
- Ability to effectively and expeditiously process change orders.
- Identify and correct all unsafe conditions and practices and communicate actions to owners.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate company resources.
- Possess CLT in landscape construction.
- Possess valid Calif. Drivers License and be insurable by company insurance carriers.
- Continuing education requirement of minimum 20 hrs./year.
JOB SKILLS
- Read and follow plans, material lists, guidelines, and apply necessary timelines.
- Manages and dispatches all subcontractors on landscape construction projects in conjunction with production manager.
- Enter daily job report data into computer for analysis.
- Prepares, analyses, and reports to management (field and office) job costing reports.
- Maintain equipment and vehicle preventive maintenance program.
- Manage inventory.
- Collect reports of regular tailgate safety meetings conducted by foremen.
- Order and schedule material deliveries to landscape construction projects.
- Supervise the production at multiple job sites.
- Manages and dispatches all subcontractors on landscape construction projects.
- Coordinate subcontractor work with landscape construction field crews.
- Schedule work force allocations for all landscape construction projects with input from supervisors and foremen.
- Communicate progress on landscape projects to company management and field staff effectively.
- Recruit, interview, hire, discipline, and terminate all landscape construction field staff.
- Mediate personnel, equipment, and customer problems with input from supervisor and foreman.
- Oversee, implement, and ensure training of field staff.
- Supervise safety program and ensures that injury reports are turned in to office staff daily for processing.
- Analyze job and safety reports developed by office staff.
- Ensures that delivery tickets and purchase orders are correctly coded with job name, phase of job and are turned into to office staff daily for processing.
- Maintain equipment and vehicle preventive maintenance program.
- Manage inventory.
- Identify extra work on projects, prepare and submit change order requests to estimating department for processing.
- Ensure that as-built plans (if needed) are complete and accurate.
- Conduct final walkthrough with client.
- Promote landscape maintenance program offered by company.
- Present operating instructions and as-built plans (if needed) to clients during final walkthrough.
- Be certified in CPR and First Aid.
